Orientation *yawn*

I forgot to mention I was told to come to Orientation almost a week later , today, and that there might be another girl with me so I was kind of happy I wasn't doing this alone. I arrived a little early (I always do) and kind of stood there while the manager I met with for my second interview, MG, talked with another girl. Finally he called me over and asked if I wanted anything to drink and told me where to sit. It ended up being too loud where we were originally sitting so we moved.
He handed me a whole stack of paperwork and told me that I wasn't signing my life away and he was going to go over everything with me. I proceeded to go through the 20 pages, at least, of papers, many that repeated themselves! SO annoying and so time consuming. While I'm about 2/3 of the way in, another girl arrives. She's really pretty but kind of seem stuck-up or maybe she just didn't care about talking to me...whatever. I finished all of my paperwork only to find, I had to wait on HB, or new girl #2, to finish. I sat for about ten minutes with nothing to do except stare at the pictures on the wall or watch UFC fight. HB and I talked minimally, like I said, she didn't seem to care. She did know another girl however and I found this was a disadvantage, I really wish I knew someone. After both of our paperwork was done, MG went over the Hooters handbook and all of the papers we signed. I was told however that I would have to do an Image Class in two days where I would get my uniform and one of the girls would go over the Hooters Image with us. I was a little dissapointed, I wanted my uniform :( I also learned that they sell the shoes for at least $20 cheaper than Shoe Carnival, so BUY FROM HOOTERS GIRLS! I would receive two shirts, two shorts, pantyhose, socks, a pouch, and an ID card for the POS system. Additional shirts are $6, so are shorts. If pantyhose is torn on the floor, they'll replace it. I can't remember about socks though. I'm so excited, you have no idea.
My dream has always been to a model and I've actually done a few jobs but due to my tattoos and that I'm 5'7" (models should be 5'8" max) has limited my opportunites. I'm really hoping Hooters can push me forward. I'm determined to be the best and work my way to the top ! (:
I'll update after my image class than I'll be onto training!

Second Interview & Hula Hooping

The day of my second interview, I decided on going with a tight skirt and a tank top and flip flops. Definitely less "professional" than my first Hooters' interview but I really just wanted to feel comfortable and to be myself this time. I walked in and had to wait about three minutes for a manager to see me. His name was Gregg and he seemed really nonchalant about things. He asked me the same general questions, however, he did not ask me about tattoos, which worried me because I have a visible tattoo that runs down my spine. It's only Old English script but I knew that most Hooters care about tattoos and want their girls to cover them. I felt extremely comfortable and didn't feel a hint of nervousness. And when he asked if I could hula hoop, I proudly said yes, I can. He told me "Go hula hoop to that guy at the bar" I made sure we were talking about the same person, grabbed a hula hoop and proceeded to shake my hips for a complete stranger. However, I was in an awkward, small space so I could not even hula hoop causing me to laugh and asking the bartender where they normally do it. She showed me and I did my thang and the whole restaurant ended up cheering me on and clapping. It really did make me feel good and my confidence was on full high but when the manager said I'll be right back and came back with instructions on how to use ServSafe, I couldn't believe I got the job! I literally wanted to dance out of the place but I decided on just squealing in the car to my boyfriend instead.

Applications, Applications, & Applications

I've decided to write this blog because I was OBSESSED with all of the Hooters girl blogs on here. I literally read as many blogs, Yahoo answers, and watched tons of videos on being a Hooters girl before I went in to apply to my first Hooters.

I decided to quit my job at this local laser tag place after I got annoyed of working until 1am and than having a shift at 10am the next morning, dealing with a female manager who's mood affected every girl in the building, and working my ass off but at the end of two weeks pulling less than a $300 check. I wanted, no, I needed to make more money to be able to ever try to move out of my parent's house.

So, the first place I looked into was working at Winghouse. I've personally only been there to eat there out of there, Hooters, and Tilted Kilt. However, there is a Hooters close to my college so I decided to apply there first. I went in wearing skinny jeans and a white v-neck with flipflops. I didn't wait too long for a girl to come up to me with an application but it's not like the girls rush to talk to you when they see a young, attractive female by themselves who is most likely trying to come in and steal their money. I was extremely nervous, my leg was shaking, and it seemed like I was taking FOREVER with the application. However, what actually took forever was for the manager to come talk to me. I awkwardly stood there for around five minutes until what seemed to be a Eastern European man came and told me that he would love to talk to me but that he was busy and asked if I could come back tomorrow. I immediately took this as a good sign and told him "yes". I decided not to go to a Winghouse close by because I had so much faith that I would get the job.

The next day, I decided to wear a pencil skirt with a bright yellow tank top and some heels for my interview. I wanted to show them my body but still try to be professional. Quite honestly, I feel like I dressed up too much but the whole situation didn't go as planned. I only talked to a different manager for less than 5 minutes and he just asked me basic questions like availability, transportation, why I wanted to be a Hooters Girl? After the very short time was over, I left feeling like I hadn't gotten the job...I was right.

So the next day my job hunting continued, I got the application for Tilted Kilt offline after going in there to find they had no more printed application. I waited around for a few minutes until a female manager came and talked to me and told me that she would look over my application and a good time to call back was on Tuesdays. While, I was in there, the atmosphere just did not feel fun nor did the girls seem friendly, at all. So I decided I wouldn't call them back. Next, I went to the Winghouse closest to my school. I sat and met with the manager and he was this really sweet older man who reminded me of my Dad. He talked to me on a personal level and told me that they weren't hiring but that I seemed like a lovely girl and if my job hunt didn't turn out well to come back on a Tuesday or Thursday when he would be there. I really felt good about being able to get a job there but I decided to keep on searching. Another Hooters followed Tilted Kilt. I sat with a manager and we talked and I felt really relaxed, he told me that he would get in contact with me when he found out the schedule. Next came another Winghouse, nothing special, just filled out the application and was told to call on next Wednesday.

A weekend went by and I decided to call the 2nd Winghouse and Hooters. Both of the managers seemed frustrated that I had even called both telling me they review applications and they'll get back to me. To say the least, I was getting a little frustrated but in the back of my mind, I knew I could go back into the first Winghouse and tell the manager that my job hunting was not going good. However, I decided to give a third Hooters a try, the one closest to my house yet its farthest from school and requires me to go on toll roads -_-

A really nice girl greeted me and got me an application. She actually brought three so we kind of had a laugh about that which made me feel really comfortable. I also think that because my boyfriend was in the car, I was more relaxed....or maybe it was the sixth breastaurant I was applying at and I was used to the routine. However, this time it was a little different. I saw two girls in the corner filling out paperwork, I got nervous and I'm not sure if they worked there or were applying so I tried to finish ASAP. I did, or at least the manager talked to me first along with a training manager. He proceeded to ask me about my previous jobs, availability, transportation ect but than he pulled out questions that kind of surprised me. When he asked me "If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?" I had no idea what to say, I just kind of laughed and spent time joking and thinking. I ended up saying I'm forgetful..I figured that was better than clumsy. Next, "If you were on a deserted island, what one item would you bring?", I immediately answered "my dog". Finally, "Describe yourself in one word." "Intriguing" I was told that was a good word and than he told me that I would need a second interview and asked if I could come in tomorrow. I happily said yes but I didn't give it too much thought, my second callback didn't go that well and I was on my way to see my favorite band.
